"A PLAN FOR FIGHTING DEFORESTATION IN AMAZONIA".

« A plan for fighting deforestation in the Amazon » is a project made in collaboration with french National TV station TF1 who produced a news report for its Prime time news to show the problem of deforested areas.

Impact of the program was successfull in as much as the Kayapo People of the Bau could express their revendications for the protection of their territory of around 1.5 millions of hectares, and avoid a civil war between the farmers and "The last Guardians of water", the Kayapo indians.

The economical stakes are high, this territory being the largest remaining Mahogany resource in the world.

Since then, the Kayapo tribe of the Bau has been able to negociate with settlers in 2005 , and have given up 1/5 of their land in exchange for the respect of their remaining land and an annual fee for ten years.

Significantly , they have gained what is most precious to them : peace avoiding their extinction and the safeguard of their remaining 1.5 million hectares territory.
