PALEO FESTIVAL 2008

Aquaverde and the Surui indians
guests of honour

More than thirty years after its first edition, the «Paleo Folk Festival», drew an audience of some 1,800 people in the town assembly rooms in Nyon, Paléo Festival is today one of Europe’s most important musical events.

Each year, more than 120 concerts are on offer to the 225,000 members of the public who fill the Festival’s 84-hectare site in Nyon, situated above the town of Nyon. In 2007, over 500 media representatives covered a highly colourful edition. Inside the Festival lies the "Village du monde" hosting every year a specific area or culture of the world.

Dedicated to Brazil, the 2008 Village du Monde was decked out in the colours of the Amazonian Rainforest and vibrating to the rhythms urban sounds.

Aquaverde, together with the Surui indigenous people were guest of honour of the Paleo Festival in 2008 and held a stand at the Village du monde.

All attractions presented had one goal: illustrate biodiversity to raise awareness of the vast heritage we risk to loose with the destruction of the Amazon forest.
