We started reforesting our indigenous territory in 2006, with a test around the village of Braganca. we planted 1'503 plants divided in 5 species:
The Açai palm tree, the Cupuacu and Avocado fruit trees, the Jambo
and Cashew trees for their nuts. 1'100 of them were planted with the support of Aquaverde and the remaining 403 with support from
ANDA reflorestamento.
We benefited from the technical and organisational knowledge of Jean-Pierre Schwarz (ANDA Reflorestamento), who originaly obtained the support of Aquaverde for our tribe.

After having planted the seeds in september 2006 in our nursery, seedlings were ready for transplantation at the start of the rainy season in january 2007.
Each familiy of our community received seedlings to plant, so that everyone would take care of part of the trees and that revenues generated by the project would be equally shared.
It is the opportunity to teach our children our values and our respect for the forest.

The cassique (chief) Orlando teaches a particular technique to others.
The end of the plantation was celebrated with a ritual feast to thank the forest.
