Introduction
The braganca village is situated on the right side of the Tapajos river, inside the Tapajos National Forest, in the municipality of Belterra in the State of Para, Brasil. Today, 65 families reside in Bragança and more Munduruku tribe members live in town, mostly for their studies.

Our first contacts with non-indigenous society were in the 1900's.Since 2001 we are in a process of demarcationof our land, the "Indigenous Territory of the Lower Tapajos".

We still maintain our cultural traditions such as dancing, rituals, arts and crafts as well as food production for the village inhabitants subsistance.

Our territory also holds many water springs, lakes and vast areas of untouched primary forest.
