"We listen to our forest.
It bleeds and laments."

Cassique Orlando Munduruku

Welcome to the land of the Munduruku in Bragança.
Aquaverde is supporting us in our efforts to save
what is left of our ancestral forest.

Introduction
The braganca village is situated on the right side of the Tapajos river, inside the Tapajos National Forest, in the municipality of Belterra in the State of Para, Brasil. Today, 65 families reside in Bragança and more Munduruku tribe members live in town, mostly for their studies.

We still maintain our cultural traditions such as dancing, rituals, arts and crafts as well as food production for the village inhabitants subsistance.

Our territory also holds many water springs, lakes and vast areas of untouched primary forest.
