A Project of water safeguard by reforestation
The original Maguari plantation is part of our first project to save a deforested land of 4 hectares situated in the Tapajos National Forest,
The impact is felt by the poulation, through generation of retributed work in the maiintenance of the plantation as well as the creation of a latex bag artifact creation activity with latex collected from the trees.
Aquaverde supported Anda Reflorestamento who put at disposition its technical resourses to prepare the land in january 2003, and then planting 3000 small tree seedlings wich were planted in february 2003.
Human resources required for the project were split depending on the activities, ANDA and the community, 11 persons on the field, the supervision and coordination by Jean-Pierre Schwarz and the forestry engineer, Eder Zanetti, in collaboration with the bratzilian institute for the environment (IBAMA) , and Aquaverde in charge of fundraising.
In 2002, 2400 trees were fostered through the Aquaverde website, the remaing trees were financed by ANDA Reflorestamento.
